Walking about the Streets of Arezzo

Arezzo. The visit to this town includes the Basilica of St Francis with the restored frescoes by Piero della Francesca, the Parish Church of St Mary, a wonderful example of Romanesque parish church, preserving at its interior the famous polyptych by Pietro Lorenzetti dating back to 1320, the Piazza Grande (big square) and the Vasari Loggia building, the Palazzo della  Fraternita dei Laici (“ Palace of the Brotherhood of the Laymen”) with its facade by Bernardo Rossellino and the most beautiful mediaeval tower houses, the Cathedral, a relevant example of Gothic church with its marvelous stained glass windows by Marcillat, the restored fresco of St Mary Magdalene by Piero della Francesca, the Church of St Dominic with the painted cross by Cimabue.
